sunday setlist 6-1-08

Here are the songs we did this past Sunday at Crossings...

pre-teaching:
"God of Power" - original
"All Bow Down" - Chris Tomlin
"All Hail the Power of Jesus Name" - traditional
"How Marvelous" - traditional

post-teaching:
"Take Me In" - Petra

Yep. Petra. That was a first.

On another note, we introduced something into our worship set this week that I was pretty excited about; something I'm sure we'll continue to use. See, we do a fair amount of hymns at Crossings. The one draw back to doing hymns, however, is that the language can be, at times...well, a tad out-dated. And it creates a bit of an issue for me, as the worship leader, to lead songs that only half the people in the room even understand.

So, to solve this problem...we created our very own "Worship Lexicon".

From now on, when we do a song like "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name"...no one will ever have to wonder why we are singing about 'prostates' and 'thongs' again. Because any word that may pose a problem, we'll just throw the definition up on the screen during the intro to the song. That way everyone is on the same page. And for people who already knew the definition? Well, being reminded of exactly what we are singing when we are singing is always a good thing.

Here are a few examples of our Worship Lexicon:

That Throng, throng, throng, throng, throng.

I like the way you work it.
