Well, yesterday I turned 28. I'm not quite sure how I am supposed to feel about that, but I feel okay. I think the fact that I am like 6 weeks away from being a father is making me feel a whole heck of a lot older than any birthday could.
To celebrate, we went to a Smokies game with some friends last night. It rained all day...then it cleared up and was a sunny 70 degrees for the game. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It started pouring again as soon as we hit the interstate to head home. So, I like to think the good weather was God's little birthday present to me.
The game was great; the Smokies killed them...12 hits, which included 6 homeruns and 2 triples. I love Smokies games because I feel like I get to root for the Cubbies from my own backyard. They even play "Go Cubs Go!" when the Smokies win.
In other news...thanks to my friend Taylor, I got to realize another dream on Monday. I backed Taylor up as he played 'The Blue Plate Special' on WDVX Radio. Many of my favorite bands have played on that stage and it is absolutely ridiculous that I was allowed to as well. I'm going to post video of two or three of the songs as soon as I get a chance to get them on youtube.
In the meantime, here are a couple pics...
